The pitfall of good intentions and why companies should not put off the Whistleblower Protection Act.
Goethe already knew that "good is the intention, but the fulfillment is difficult." The implementation of the EU Whistleblower Directive by German lawmakers shows that "procrastination" is not a purely private phenomenon. Even if the entry into force of the HinSchG is still a bit delayed, companies should already start dealing with the requirements.

The new EnWG or the novella to the novella of the novella?
Legislative processes have rarely been this fast in the past: The last major novella to the EnWG and the Electricity and Gas Ordinance (Strom- und GasGVV) was only a little over a year ago, after which many processes at energy suppliers already had to be adapted and re-implemented. Now the legislator is making even stricter demands on the conditions for suspending supply due to late payment.

Progress on the Hinweisgeberschutzgesetz
The Hinweisgeberschutzgesetz (HinSchG): Now it is coming sooner than expected. After the government's draft from July, a joint draft of the traffic light parliamentary groups has been available since yesterday. This has already been passed today in the Legal Affairs Committee and will be finally read and decided upon in the Bundestag on Friday. The only thing missing is the approval of the Bundesrat, the upper house of the German parliament, until the requirements become mandatory three months after adoption.
